Fence & Deck Staining
Outdoor Wood Refinishing Samples
Fences and deck surfaces need the same kind of prep discipline as siding: cleaning, sanding where needed, and even stain coverage for moisture protection.
Painting in the Pacific Northwest
Bremerton's marine climate presents unique challenges: constant moisture, salt air, UV exposure, and temperature swings. We use specific products and techniques designed for these conditions.
Marine-Grade Paints
We use Sherwin-Williams Duration and Emerald lines formulated for coastal environments. These paints resist mildew, stand up to salt air, and maintain color in high UV exposure.
Critical for homes within 5 miles of Puget Sound
Proper Prep for Moisture
We allow extended dry time after washing, use moisture meters to verify surfaces are ready, and apply during optimal weather windows (typically May-September).
Prevents peeling and ensures adhesion
Exterior Painting FAQs
When is the best time to paint in Bremerton?
Late spring through early fall (May-September) is ideal. We need temperatures above 50°F and no rain for 24-48 hours. We watch the forecast closely and only paint when conditions are right.
How long will exterior paint last in the PNW?
With proper prep and quality paint, 7-10 years on siding, 5-7 years on trim. South and west-facing sides fail first due to UV. Homes near water may need more frequent maintenance. Our 5-year warranty covers peeling and blistering.
Do you paint cedar homes?
Absolutely - we specialize in cedar. Cedar requires oil-based primer to block tannins, otherwise they bleed through within months. We also recommend solid-color stain as an alternative - it allows wood to breathe better and lasts longer.
